Elhannah Alexis MPA
Founder & CEO
Elhannah is a dynamic professional with a rich background in finance, public administration, and community development. Born and raised in Dominica, her journey has taken her across continents, shaping her into a versatile and accomplished individual.
Elhannah’s academic pursuits led her to China, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing. Her thirst for knowledge and commitment to public service prompted her to further her education, culminating in a Master of Public Administration from the prestigious Tsinghua University, also in Beijing.
Fluent in English, Chinese Mandarin, and French Creole, Elhannah’s linguistic abilities reflect her global perspective and adaptability. Her career began in Dominica, where she served as a high school teacher from 2002 to 2006, teaching a wide range of subjects and establishing empowerment programs for students.
Upon returning to Dominica after her studies in China, Elhannah immersed herself in socio-economic development. From 2011 to 2017, she worked as a Socio-Economic Development Consultant for EXIS in Roseau, where she played a pivotal role in bridging the gap between government and private sectors, securing funding for community projects, and developing innovative models for community and small business development.
Her passion for youth empowerment and entrepreneurship shone through during her tenure at the Dominica Youth Business Trust from 2013 to 2014. Here, she managed databases, facilitated training programs, and represented the organization at international summits.
Elhannah’s career path then led her to the United States, where she continued to work in the Public Administration field. It was during this time, as a Dominican citizen living abroad, that Elhannah recognized the challenges faced by her fellow Dominicans in accessing local services and systems in Dominica. Drawing from her extensive experience in both public and private sectors, and her deep understanding of the needs of Dominicans abroad, Elhannah founded Simexx Inc.
Simexx Inc. was born out of Elhannah’s desire to bridge the gap between Dominicans living overseas and their home country’s bureaucratic processes. Her firsthand experience as an expatriate, combined with her expertise in public administration and her intimate knowledge of Dominican governmental procedures, uniquely positioned her to create a service that would simplify document authentication and other essential processes for Dominicans worldwide.
Throughout her career, Elhannah has consistently shown a commitment to community service and volunteer work. She served as Treasurer for the Fond Cole Improvement Committee in Dominica from 2011 to 2017 and was involved in various volunteer capacities during her time in China, including assisting with the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Elhannah’s diverse skill set, international experience, and dedication to both professional excellence and community development make her not only a unique and valuable asset in any organization but also an innovative entrepreneur. Her journey from the Caribbean to China and then to the United States, culminating in the founding of Simexx Inc., exemplifies her adaptability, cultural awareness, and continuous pursuit of growth and learning. Through Simexx Inc., Elhannah continues to serve her community, bridging distances and simplifying processes for Dominicans around the world.
